    Power steering noise or not!!!!

I have just purchased a 2002 Discovery ES TD5 with A.C.E and have noticed a low resonating noise while turning the steering. It is more noticeable while turning right but it is also present while turning left but not as loud. The noise is not there until the vehicle has reached normal operating temperature. I have heard that the ACE pumps can make a bit of noise but this noise is there even at low speed. The steering function is fine but I would obviously rather this noise not be there. It is still under warranty but I would like to here a bit of feedback before I take it back.

Yes Hiline, that will be what will happen but I would like to have an idea of any commom problems in this area. I have heard that the power steering lines can rub on the chassis causing various noises. I have a couple of months before it is out of warranty so I will take that time to test it out and give them a few items to look at.

I,ve had exactly the same thing with the Defender since new, 03 model 27000ks, thought it was just the oil being cold. Thanks, now I have another warranty headache to add to the list!

land Rover Fault, mate had it on an 03 Disco
They have the drill a ghole in the chassis (or somthing like that) and then it will be fine
Is a know problem to Land Rover but one of those , we won't do anything untill somone says about it.
Had the same sort of thing with a Pug i had, the service department said , OHH no we have never heard of that problem, but when i spoke to the mechanic . He said he was fixing them all day long for the problem

On Further examinatiion I have realised that the noise is actually in the ACE system and it seems to be the piping resonating. It will be going back to the dealer on Thursday.
I would be interested to here from anyone else that has a vehicle fitted wtih ACE. I would like to know if theres makes a similar noise.
