Toyota drivers dont expect new Defenders power..

I am normally a very sedate driver and I dont let idiots annoy me, but the road was wide and safe and hopefully the idiot learned something.. A Tojo Cruiser maybe around a 2000 model pulled out in front of me rudely causing me to break hard. It is not that he didnt see me he did, actually he looked right at me, he was just a rude idiot. I did nothing knowing the hill ahead I just stayed with him, close but not too close, just enough that he knew I was there. The 80km/h zone finished and then the 100 zone started, he has been doing 70 to annoy me and then as soon as the 100 zone started he sped off, but I stayed with him. The hill started, but I was still there, I could see him looking in the mirror looking confused, he has a last ditch effort he went to 120km/h but the Defender was still there, now you could really see his annoyance. I passed him and he realized he had massively underestimated the Defender and he dropped back to below 100km/h. I went back to 100 and continued on home. I think a lot of people especially those driving older Cruisers think all Defenders are old slow heaps of junk. This guy had a big surprise, not sure what the conversation was with his mates in the car after a chugging Defender passed him ..

Yup, happens all the time Chris. 😎 What I don't understand is this constant pseudo-top-dog-silverback-alpha male, but ultimately childish, attitude that somehow if ones car is faster or has bigger tyres it makes one superior?

When is everyone going to grow up?

Taking off from the lights is a different story though. I still get a lot of people nearly rear ending me before I grab second gear and accelerate away

    Funny really.
I ride a big road bike. The amount of knob jockeys that drive obnoxiously around me trying to prove their manliness is astounding.
The worst consistently are the typical blinged 4wds.
Not sure either what the point of the behavior is.

Defender drivers have nothing to prove. Leave the ****ing contests to the peasants and sit proud atop your noble steed

Normally on the road I am very hard to annoy, I have my own business so I am rarely in a hurry or late as I can hardly give myself a ticking off for bad timekeeping
This guy however really ticked me off probably as he eyeballed me then pulled slowly out in front of me. Either to annoy or just he did not give a bleep about anyone else on the road.
Then he trundles along at 70km/h slowing down and speeding up (when I sat calmly behing him), then finally he floored it just as I prepare to pass at the 100km/h zone, he was a total and complete nob. Hopefully he learned something about Defenders

If you were driving a 300TDi Chris you could have pulled in front (yes it will do it), let the boost drop off before giving it some and covered the fool in an old-school smoke screen

No-one puts TDi in a corner. I mean no-one tailgates a TDi for very long

I had a camry driver, sorry cam-ray,why they pronounce it that way I don't know try very hard to overtake me in a 100 zone while I was doing 100 and then do the old slow down to 90 trick, when I started tailgating her which I couldn't help as her speed was 80 and then 100 and then 90 she had her arms out the window waving doing a Mr Bean impersonation.I look at it positively, the weirdo's make a dull drive interesting. And with my number plate it would look intentional, secret smoke screen button
