Spare wheel bonnet rubbers - trying to locate

Has anyone had any luck finding a set of the rubber mounts that bolt to the bonnet to support the spare tyre? Can't locate on any of the usual sites. My bonnet is already drilled for them but obviously a PO has removed them probably when repainting.

Hello from Brisbane.

I bought a set of the NOS bonnet rubbers from the UK a year or so back - unfortunately, I can't remember which one of the usual suspects was the supply source now. Likely one of either Craddocks, LR Direct or Dunsfold.

Not sure this is heaps of help, but hope you can track a set down. Googling the part number and a bit of perseverance usually wins the day for most parts.

I made some for mine but they don't look as neat as properly moulded ones.

Finding the round ones for the later cars are pretty easy as per the link below. The challenge would be to find the rectangular ones of the early cars. I would be grateful if anyone knows where to get those...

I've worked out that e-bay searches are very similar to finding something in a military Q-Store...

Example would be if you wanted a pair of standard air-force uniform shoes to ask the quarter master for: - Shoes, men's, black, laced, rubber soled, drill... If you leave any bit out the standard answer would be that there is none in stores!

Following the same concept has made e-bay searches a lot more effective.

Hello again.

Still not of much use to you, but I had also seen those alternative posts and, while the NOS part is genuinely scarce, I am pretty sure that I didn't pay anything within a bull's roar of GBP50 for the 4 mounting rubbers.

If I happen to come across the invoices in the deep litter pile I will let you know the who from and for how much that was involved.

Incidentally, particularly with a wheel in place and based on my own vehicles over many years, the originals can last indefinitely. Being so, you might canvass a few of the local AULRO parts hoarders to see if they have some on a wreck. The Ho Hars at Buccan are one option that comes to mind.

I'm sure years back someone on AULRO made some. Bonded some rubber together & belt sanded them to shape.

I did enquire with a company about making them (and the round ones). Problem was the cost of the tooling and minimum quantity needed.
Can't be in big demand otherwise **itpart would be producing them.....

this was the last thread to address the issue. I went for the Cabinet Amp Rubber Feet - I found them a bit on the high side , but otherwise OK.
