    Changing seats

Just got back from attending a dawn service here in Brisbane.
The Perentie was a hit, but after bashing pothole on the way home, my Drivers seat base (the metal plate that the seat cushion attaches too, not the seat box itself) finally succumbed to rust and broke in half.

So now I need either a replacement seat cushion base (and cushion I suppose) or a whole new seat.

Does anyone know of any bolt in options for seats?
I like the look of the SAAS/Recaro seats you can grab at Supercheap for $250. They don't bolt straight in though, and getting adapters made up and certified is apparently very expensive.

Not that much! Especially now that I need to spend $$$$$ putting new suspension in - Emergency brake on the highway yesterday led to a 180 . not fun.

I may end up putting a Defender one in if I can find one.
I read someone (here or REMLR) that there is a place in Townsville (I think) that re-covered them for the Army but I'm not having any luck find the forum post or the business.

It's just a seat cushion base! I really don't want to have to spend huge $$$ to fix it.

Swap it with the passenger base and ignore it for a bit longer haha

You might get lucky and the next auction will have seats...

Sadly, I'm in Brisbane and it seems that the parts auctions are only happening from Minto and I'll be damned if I'm buying a whole seat(when I just need the cushion), then paying to get it picked up and delivered up here, only to find I have the same problem again because I couldn't inspect it.

Swapping them over would mean that would have to swap the whole seat seat over wouldn't it? Since the passenger seat base is removable to access the battery and the seat frame is different ( I think, not near it to check at the moment)

The drivers should be removable to inspect the fuel tank.

    Both my seats are identical.

Do you have Isri or Stratos seating? (Isri have removable cushions)

The Isri bolt directly to the Defender seat box, while the Stratos have seat rails and a hinge mechanism for the passenger side.

Isri seat bases are available as a spare part, (but you may need to take out a second mortgage. )

The rails on the Stratos have been engineered and approved. If you use anything else (other than Defender/County) that doesn't bolt directly to the seat box they will need to be engineer certified.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Sorry to go off topic, but do you know what the model name is of the isri seats?

There are two models of Isri used in the Perentie, I don't have the details here at work.
