    Dobbinsons and bilstiens

Just fitted my rear shocks and springs, initial impressions is I quite like the combo, they are stiffer than the originals ( springs) but the lift while carrying my usual bush load leaves the car nice and level , next to no body roll and the back end Coles well with corigations , contour drains and water damaged dirt .. all seems very stable , the springs seem to flex fairly well, I'm liking the shocks a lot, btw with about 250 kgs in the back and 130 springs in front it sits less than a cm higher at the back loaded and unloaded( trouble is now the original valves black bilstiens on the front kinda feel a bit soft lol)
Springs are dobinsons c51019 ,shocks are b46-0255
I'll report back on them empty and after my next trip up the hills.
Fairly shure I could have got better springs through les Ritchmond but realy didn't have the time to go that route

I love the combo on my D2 on all corners. Car handles (non ACE) very very well. Cheers

    Update

Just an update, back from 3 weeks and 1400 kms in the high country, traveling fairly light but returning loaded with wood.... they work realy well together, they are firmer than the front Hd 130 springs but doesn't seem to be an issue , shocks? I love them.. the rear dose now show up the front shock wise ( front having black original valving bilstiens with 60,000 on them is softer by a fair bit)
Looks like I'll have to squirrel away some cash for fronts now( shocks)

I bought a d90 a few weeks ago and the previous owner installed Dobinson shocks and stiffer springs as he did a bit of towing, I find the ride a bit rough when going over bumps, Is it worth putting back the standard springs or keep the Dobinsons?

    Might be
Shorter wheel bases are choppier to start with, plus I'm carrying 200 kg plus long range tank( not that it's full often) plus 110 .
Could try the original shocks first( easier lol) could be that the shocks are firmer valves than standard
