Hi All, Would any one know where or how I might be able to fit a Barrett 910 auto tuner to the Disco 4 2015. I really don't want to go down the bull bar path. I have looked at the Kaymar bar but they are also expensive. Cheers

Depends on whether or not you need to tow anything, but an alternative is to make an elevated mount that goes into the tow hitch. The NSW Police had a similar arrangement on western region vehicles.

Thanks for the info I would be towing a Coromal 662 RTV a few months of the year but that option would be ok when at home base. I had thought of a rear Ladder and making some sort of bracket off that. Any thoughts?

If you can use a single wheel carrier (rather than a replacement bumper) then fit a bracket to that, otherwise the ladder should be OK if the antenna wont foul a roof rack with the tailgate up.

You could have a bracket made similar to how a single wheel carrier is mounted, I'm sure rijidij (forum vendor) could do something for you, give him a PM to see.

Hi,

An auto tune antenna at the rear is not ideal unless you can get some height and space from body mass.

The ideal position is front left. However, anything greater than 30mm in diameter facing forward is not ADR compliant, emergency services vehicles excempt.

I tried a number of scenarios, and the best choice is a wheel carrier or a sturdy antenna mount, but it must clear rear tail gate with enough swing room otherwise you can have rear tail gate damage. You do not have much choice as any mechanism will have to be able to swing out and that means you have to fabricate it yourself.

Shot below is my Codan 9350 Autotune on the Kaymar RWC with adjustable height when travelling to get the best efficiency where it is mounted. In addition, I can actually see it via rear vision mirrors.

The position is not ideal, however from all reports for last 4 years, suppurb feedback across 2-30MHz...

Hi everyone, thanks for your suggestions and help. I have ended up (after 10 months of grief) fitting the rear door ladder and making a bracket to fit the tuner. It has been over gravel roads and has worked a treat. Testing on all frequencies is very good quality.

I had thought of doing the same,but wasn't sure that there was enough support to withstand long term the pressures/stresses that are in play when on rough roads.
Were you able to keep dust seal integrity when cabling into cabin? Photos?
Also,how/where did you run your cables internally.
