TC query

Just a query re the ABS and traction control... I am finding that my traction control on my 2010 puma seems over sensitive and comes on with the slightest slippage.
Every time I go over a small pothole or bump in the road the TC cuts in. This mostly happens when the offside front wheel is involved, rarely the nearside and never the back !
Does sound familiar to anyone ?
There are no fault codes coming up.

She ( Holly ) will even engage TC in Bunnings car park going over speed bumps at 5kmh
I can drive over a pothole with the left hand front wheel, nothing. Turn around and drive over the same pothole with the right hand front, bingo TC engages.

ABS sensor? Or loose sensor wire?

Could possibly be the sensor isn't completley seated within the hub. If it is well seated then check for play in the hub.

Gday Kayak. I had trouble with my wheel speed sensors last year after the run into Windjana gorge and then again on the Gibb. The sheet metal backing plate on the rear brakes both cracked and rattled about moving the sensor out ever so slightly. This caused anomalies in info to ecu triggering abs to cut in a little at first and then gradually more until we couldn't drive faster than 30kms an hour without some crazy automatic braking! A bit sketchy on the loose stuff with a camper on the back. The sensors looked perfectly normal but I removed & cleaned them, reinstalled and bingo - all back to normal.
Those backing plates are out in the bush somewhere & I ran the rest of the trip without them.

Sounds like I should start looking online about removing ABS and cleaning them. Another excuse to tinker with Holly :-) thanks colmoore

I would expect to see a fault code of some description when you connect a Nanocom or a Hwkeye if it is sensor related.

You'd be expecting wrong then
If its moved slightly and is currently a little more "sensitive" but not in a position of "fault" then there will be no code logged.

If the suspension is a little sticky on one side (shock) then it may be giving just enough reduction in traction to trigger also... Had this when one of my front shocks played up a little years ago - it worked fine but had a small amount of stick/slip and the initial delay on breakout was just enough to trigger the light.
Changing the shock fixed it.

However, in this case its more likely just alignment or a sensitivity issue.
