D4 - triangular hazard ! exclamation mark light on dash - red/orange

I can't find an online version of the D4 owners handbook to look it up, but what is the triangular light with an '!' exclamation mark in it for on the dash of a D4? Looks like it can illuminate in either orange or red? e.g. pictures found online below:

Anything from driver's door open or seat belt undone to restricted performance fault.
Message that comes with the light offers a bit more information but with restricted performance it doesn't offer much clue.

If its there all the time you need to find out the fault code,it will give a few more clues as to what is going on.

Is the alternating red or orange signify the severity of the issue? ie red more severe an issue?

Good observation. I would have thought low/empty fuel tank was represented by the bowser light but perhaps once it's so low as to be of concern it illuminates the exclamation too.

Yes, orange is a warning whereas red is an error and if alternating then at least 1 message of each level.
Have you looked at the messages using the right steering wheel button?

Not extra low although there will be a current warning message for low fuel.
