There are good wiring harnesses available to save you hacking the original.

There isn't one. Power is applied from unlock to ~30 minutes after the car is locked and it gets its wakeup call from the CAN bus. As Tombie said, lighter socket is the closest reliable old school power source.

There is also the antenna amplifier power supplied by the head unit. That'll work for a signal but it has SFA driving capacity so you won't power anything with it.
