Trouble with auto and M and S dash lights

Hi i hope there is somone out there that can help me.
Steve Atkinson is my name and i live in townsville,i have a disco 2 2004 model td5 auto that i purchaced in Nov last year with 70 k on the clock.
the prob at the moment is as i back out of our drive then put the girl into drive just as i take off the dash lights M and S start flashing,The owners manual says just turn off the ignition and restart and if the lights stop there is no prob and this is the case but,,, it happens every time i start the disco and some times if it dosnt happen straight away it will within 10 mins or so with a slight shudder then the lights come on.
I have changed all oils diffs trans etc in the past 3 weeks.
I took it to the landrover dealer in townsville the only one with the test gear for a new injector loom that turned out to be a new injecter (ouch) and i asked if they would check all the codes to see if there were any other probs , the answer was none.Since then the problem has been getting worse. I have also spokent to Tim at Landrovers only and he is at a loss as is his recomended transmission guy.

I will look forward to any sugestions

    Thanks Steve Ako

    Steve,
M+S flashing can be caused by a sticky linkage or dirty contact on the outside of the transmission. The A/C on the Disco's drains either side of the housing. Have a look underneath, you'll find the drain bleaders with a torch, and the check the housings connectors and external linkages for rust or corrossion.

The M+S flashing should have logged an entry in the Transmission ECU but as the owners manual says, and you have found, the faul itself will reset.

Other than that the transmision is a mistery to me.

I know its 360km away but there is a Hypertune Land Rover in Cairns with Rovacom who can also do diagnostics. Like Tim they get a good rap. Might pay to give them a call at least.

I have taken the drain for the a/c out and fitted an aditional 400mm of hose so the dripping is trans to the rear along way.
Thanks for the tips and we will see if this is the prob.
I also soked the electrics with wd40

    Heres hoping

Have replied to your other thread....in Technical Chat. There can be more to this than the aircon drain.................

Steve, I'd spray it with Lanotec once its all cleaned up. Should help seal things a little as well.

With the drains, don't make them to long or they may end up with a dead leg that doesn't drain, this will easily gum up with crud and stop the A/C draining moisture.

The M&S lights appear for 3 different reasons:

    1. Battery undervoltage
    2. Poor earth due to loose cable or corrosion
    3. Over torque due to highly chipped TD5 engine
