    It is indeed, I'm pretty certain he owns an original one too

    You should be carrying a suitable jack - in which case jack up the back of the vehicle and fill in the holes. If necessary unload.

    Truck drivers across the nullarbor and other tracks used to get bogged all the time before bitumen. Usual practice was just to camp beside the vehicle until the ground dried out enough to keep going.
