Do you mean the steering arm ball joint? They can be an absolute bitch to remove, had a mate tell me about using a hydraulic puller on his, and it still won't budge.

I dont want to remove the ball joint(from the looks of it you cant, just rebuild it within the steering arm) just get the drag link off it so I can replace the joint on the swivel end.If its a hassle, it may be easier to pull the wheel and leave it in situ, as there are no issues with that end.

If you mean the arm that the tierod end slips into, usually you can remove them by bashing the hell out of the arm that holds the tierod in place, this shocks them and the tierod end lets go, (sometimes they can be abit tight for this though).

You could maybe try applying a slight amount of load on the tierod end with a jack then bash the hell out of it

unwind the nut, turn it upside down so it goes on castle first (if its a lock nut when you undo it undo it so that the nut id flush with the face of the threads.

put the jack under the nut and jack it up then smack the forwards edge of arm with the RBH. if that doesnt work you can either add a little heat, a little more upwards presure from the jack or the hammer then hit it again.

I use a 2lb lump hammer and get most by the 3rd shot. If that doesnt work then you need to grab a tie rod seperator and have at it again.

I'm hopeless at explaining this stuff.
At the end of the draglink?? on the drivers side there is a bracket that the steering damper attaches to and the end of the draglink seems to slip over a ball jointy thing which appears to be held into the steering arm by a circlip at its base.I want to lift the draglink off this joint as it seems to just slip over the thread on on to the joint, but it donwanna come orf!!

I've had very good results by using two hammers and hitting both sides together with a little load on the taper, they usually pop straight out then.

steer over to hard left lock to give you room to swing the hammer for starters

    now...

as you're looking at it with your jack and a small piece of soft wood jack underneath and slightly to the right of the the holes that are the mounting point for the steering dampner.

the compression clamp that is on the rod itself is over the threaded bit that is part of the same casting that you are jacking on. So long as you are not in contact with the clamp or the pitman arm when you are jacking and if you dont go too nuts with the upwards pressure on the jack it will pop off when you smack the end of the casting. I strongly suggest placing the nut on the threads to stop it from leaping up uncontrollably.

on the edit... the brown line is the block of wood, jack at the red arrow and hit on the orange.
