What sort of car?
Has anyone ever had heat coming from the instrument panel area?
Just this summer, I can sometimes feel heat coming from in front of the instrument cluster (ie speedo, etc). This sometimes is annoying on a hot day when you have the airconditioning on.
Any ideas where the heat is coming from?
Thanks
Adam

Aftermarket under dash unit?
Sorry, it is a 1998 300tdi Discovery.
The 1928 Chev actually produces a lot of heat at the front on account of no firewall blanket.
The heater core in your vehicle is always on, so a flap may be worn or badly adjusted, letting heat leak out. Or you can fit a 4-port heater valve under the bonnet, similar to some earlier discos. I have used a VS V6 Commodore valve as a replacement on such a model, with a V8.
Agreed!
Also on vehicles getting on a bit the foam sealing the heater vent tubes perishes and you get air leakage behind the dash.
May be something to look at if the above doesnt seem likely.
Thanks for the advice. Now to get up into there to have a look. Plenty of skin to come off my head and knickles in the process.
