    OIL LIGHT FLICKERING 300TDI

    I did an oil/filter change about 3 weeks ago and about a week ago i noticed the oil light flicker occasionally. Thought it was just low oil but level is full, i think i read somewhere that this could mean big end bearings are out of tolerance and need replacement ? Engine is fine otherwise, no noisier than usual.

    Try a replacement oil pressure switch, they can fail in that way.

    Good point, should check the wiring first incase it might be just dirty.

    I have seen a oil pressure relief get stuck open. with similar symptoms. might be best to check with gauge aswell
