    Puma front Prop shaft non-greasable

    G'day
    I had the front prop shaft on my 07 Puma replaced due to grease nipple falling out. The new part seems to have a non-greasable spline...only nipples on the unis.

    Any other puma owners noted this? Anyone got any comments on longevity compared to greasable splines?

    Hi,

    Some RRC front propshafts were missing the spline nipple. The idea (Haynes?) was to drop one end, loosen the rubber boot and slide along from the spline area, carefully mark the shaft either side of the splines to ensure it will go back together later exactly the same way to retain balance and phase (may already be marked), unscrew the retaining collar, separate the shaft, grease splines and re-assemble.

    Might work for you.

    Maybe they've gone the way later model D2's/D2a's went with the sliding propshaft joint.

    ^^^ This is the likely answer. Note Bundalene was able to separate the shaft in the linked post.
