Horrendous fuel consumption
Just reading through the VKS network mag, and came across the story of the marvellous walk in aid of the Heart foundation across the Madigan line by two ladies, Gill Plastow and Donna Kelly 23rd Sept '09.
In the report, it stated the 4.2 diesel and 3l diesel patrols both returned 28l/100km, and the 100 series cruiser, presumambly also a diesel returned 32.8l/100km

This surely makes these sorts of vehicles on the edge of tennable, for remote travel having to carry huge weights in fuel !!!
Sure the track IS very difficult, and September would see it reasonably soft but those numbers are extremely high. Can anyone here divulge their diesel figures for the Madigan line, Td5 and/ or Tdi? I would be interested to see the comparison.
These vehicles would be loaded a fair bit too as support crew and the like, but I'd like to think my RR 4BD1 would use a whole lot less than that, even fully loaded
