I am thinking of getting a Provent unit for the TD5 as I am getting oil mist through the intercooler.

Has anyone had any positive proof that they work effectively - or is it more 'wishful thinking' than actual benefit. Also, other than the Provent unit, is there a better way to solve the problem?

A standard provent element will remove ~80% of the mass of oil before it reaches your intercooler.

They work REALLY WELL Ian.
Very happy with mine.Recently had the IC hoses off,no more oil film,happy chappy!!!!
Make sure you also remove the EGR system at the same time.Its easy,kits readily available.
