    pressure washer - any experts?

I bought a home made pressure washer - yes it needs a belt guard- and whilst it performs reasonably well, it seems to churn over quite slowly -approx 700RPM
    Is this normal?

It has a 1 h/p motor & I was thinking if I could score a 2 h/p then I could up the pulley size & get it around 1000 RPM. Does anybody know if the pump can take it?
    1500 rpm ??

    Thanks, David

David, I would check on the pump for "specs" plate, it should give you the Max. RPM that the pump should do, if it doesn't have this info on the pump, Google or get in touch with the manufacturer of the pump and get the info off them. not advisable to spin the pump over manufacturers specs, Regards Frank.
