First issue is that when cold, when i release the clutch so the thrust bearing (or whatever you call it) comes in contact it makes a squealing noise... its like a dry bearing noise... so im assuming that it is dry and also about to crap itself! any tips on getting some lube to it?
second, i have read other suffering with this, but at around 2400-2600rpm the engine is harsh as... far more so than the disco.. im assuming this could be flywheel, harmonic balancer, engine mounts etc etc etc... i am guessing at some point it will need replacing.. and it looks a pretty major job to replace.. how bad is it really? i dont have a hoist (sure i could borrow one) and i dont have any headroom in the garage (not even sure the deeer will fit in) is it best to drop the box or remove the engine?
other issue is that i have a habit of resting my foot on the clutch pedal, with relatively light pressure it slips, now that its been chipped.. i am talking just a gentle rest here.... so maybe the whole thing is on its way out?
what do you reckon...
Advice appreciated!
Steve
