    Is 4.6 compatable with 3.5???

Can anyone tell me the differences and mods I would need to do to this to fit into a stage one series 3 with lt95 box?

Will the extractors, and edelbrock intake etc I bought for the 3.5lt fit up to this?

thanks guys, only has 10 hours left...

    Chad

    G`day Chad ,

all the bits from a 3.5 will fit , if a bit fits on a 3.5 it will physically fit a 4.6 and the other way as well .

On the outside , other than some bolt sizes for ancillaries they have the same dimensions .

If don`t want to a use a distributor you would need the rest of the front off the engine , water pump , pullys ETC .

If you want to use a distributor you`d need to change the camshaft and use a 3.5 timing cover/waterpump ETC .

Then you only really need a spacer for the crankshaft , which you can make out of a crankshaft timing gear by removing the teeth or buy or make a spacer and depending on the 3.5 you may have to look at the crankcase breathing setup .

    Cheers

Looks like left over Land Rover stock, not Coscast.

Yes it will all transfer over - I have one in my SD1 car fitted with Edelbrock and Buick heads.

You can use your 3.5 front cover and oil pump in place of the 4.6 one already fitted if you want to retain a dissy ignition. Crank spacers are available from many RV8 specialists or you can make one up easily (the 4.6 crank is longer than the 3.5).

Change the cam for a non injection high torque type, and lifters too.

Plumb the breather from the rocker cover into the front of the Edelbrock.

AFAIR , you also have to cut a couple of dowels off the crankshaft rear end.

Yes, it's my "other project" car (well, one of them) with highly worked Buick 300 BV heads (by the Head Stud in Melbourne), Yella Terra roller rockers, Crane cam and MSD ignition. With lightweight fibreglass panels reducing the weight to under 1200kg, a 3.46:1 Quaiffe lsd and Minilight wheels it's a real hot rod...sort of like a four door TVR. The wife thinks it sucks and wonders when I'm ever going to get over it....
