    1990 RRC - Radio removal

    Hi everyone,

I have a 1990 Range Rover, and have just bought a fancy Sony bluetooth all the bells and whistles cd player for it.

The old cassette player just has the two holes on either side to remove. For these you need DIN or ISO keys, which in the UK (where Im from, Im over here for two years on a working holiday visa) are easy to get hold of from any auto place (halfords etc).

I went to supercheapauto, Autobarn, repco and even looked on ebay. None of them had the keys.

So where can I get these keys from? Or is there another way of removing the old cassette player without damaging it?

    Cheers , Chris

I went to Strathfield Car Radio and the techs released it on the spot at no charge.

    Hi
In the Disco I just bent up 2 pieces of wire about 50mm long and the width of the holes and inserted them and out it popped.
    Regards

cheers, got it out easily enough with a couple of bits of wire. dont think it was in properly in the first place!

on another note, does anyone know why this forum reads backwards? IE first post appears at the bottoms of the page, and most recent first. Its really annoying, is it possible to change this?

Hit the Display Mode button. It's all there.

    Thanks, that did the job.

Got another problem now, the cd player is fitted and all working fine. Except every time I turn the ignition off it forgets everything, all presets etc.

I guess I could check that the permanent live feed actually is permanent, but aside from that anyone got any ideas?

You could have the ignition feed and the battery live feed connected the wrong way around, that would do it. Swap and see after you have tested the two feeds are live at the right time.
