    TD5 Disco Blowing brake fuses

    Hello All,

My father is currently staying with us and his D2 Td5 keeps blowing the brakelight fuse AFTER the trailer plug has been removed?

The problem is Disco based as it does not happen on my Patrol or Cruiser?

I had the same problem with my D2 and was amongst the reasons why I traded it, as it is frustrating. I have checked all connections and even been to 2 Auto Electricians who cannot locate the fault.

    Can anybody help?

    Many thanks

Trailer plug removed? As in the trailer unplugged from the car or you've disconnected the socket from the car's wiring to eliminate that as the cause?

    Scouse,

I have disconnected the trailer plug from the Car. All works fine when plugged in and driving etc. Jusy when you stop and disconnect when setting up camp. You turn off the car pull out the trailer plug. When you restart to drive off the brake lights dont work.
Mine used to do the exact same thing. I carried packets of 15amp fuses with me and just tolerated it. Unfortunately my dad has Parkinsons so navigating the tight fuse box is a real challenge!!

    Hello Jerry,
I have a Td5 D2 Classic and from time to time mine does the same thing, I have to put two fuses to blow then, it is fine for a while if you get any answer would be keen to find out what does it used to be driving down a bumpy road or would just blow I moved the wires going into the plug and no trouble for a while
