    transfer case slop

    Hey fellas, who here has had their transfer case shimmed up to remove the backlash in it? Ive been told by a certain Landrover specialist that the case has to be removed, but read on here it doesnt? BTW vehicle in question is a 2001 defender extreme.
    How much should it cost to do roughly?

    Award diffs in Seven Hills have just done mine. New bearings, seals, thrust washers and reset the centre diff, including freight to Tassie and GST $880.
    I don't think you can beat that.
