As BlackBetty is no longer driven regularly,can be weeks between use my flat battery issue has being rearing its ugly head once again.I have been leaving the battery disconnected to stop the battery going flat.
In an attemp to rule out the main fuse box having a fault,I purchased a secondhand unit(Thanks Erich).I swapped them out this morning,still a regular click every 10 seconds or so.
Further investigations reveal its the ACE relay.If I remove the relay it stops clicking.If I then refit the clicking doesnt re-appear until the engine has been started.
It seems the ACE system isnt "going to sleep" after shutdown.
A nanocom reading reveals no faults in the ACE ECU register.
Any ideas people.

Can you borrow a relay or do you have a spare (I have lots of relays) too see if the relay is slow or does not close the circuit

Have swapped them.
Relay itself isnt the issue unfortunately!!!
Easier to pull the relay when she is parked up than undoing the battery lead!!!!
Still,I want to sort it.Will get another ACE ECU if no ideas pop up.

I had problems too when I got a co. car Discovery sitting for a week and at the best a 5 k trip to the shops and back. Gave the battery a long slow charge and fitted a small batterysaver solar panel which I have wired direct to the battery.
So far it works really well been sitting for two weeks and I get an instant start even after 0 deg c mornings. Look up ICP Global Battery saver. for more details.

Battery is good.
Just started it up tonite to makesure its ready to go to Perth in the morning,relay has been out since sun morn after a charge up.
Started no problems at all.

Hi no mine does not have ace but this week has done one short trip 5KLM and she still fires up like its just got a new battery. Might be worth a try, think the little panels are about $40.00 from super cheap etc.
