    Has Anyone Tried a "Digi-Panel?"

    Digi-Panel Home

Looks good, and apparently more accurate than ye olde dial gauges.

    Their website is horribly ugly.

Looks like the display doesn't give you much on the temp guages.

15 degree steps for oil and 25 degree steps for transmission. (13.5 and 22.5)

Doesn't sound too accurate to me.

Edit- doesn't seem clear if the three-colour system means that you get better temp resolution for each gradation or just warning colours.

I think there are lots of options out there that give you a much closer idea of actual temperature, etc. that also come with warnings, etc.

    And mildly less ugly.

Well, it is American. Their idea of good design is the Hum . . . the Hu . . . oh, sorry, I just can't say it.

The site looks really home-made. The funny thing is that I couldn't find any references to it elsewhere, so I wondered how popular it could be. I only found it through a link from the Ashcroft website.

Hey, I thought it looked okay . . . well, maybe sort of '70s . . . but I do drive a SIIA. And I like the idea of having everything in the one panel. But that website - whew. Doesn't exactly sell the product, to say the least.

    Quote from Operating Instructions
"The ENGINE-KILL is NOT intended for use while the vehicle is being operated. For example, should an alarm signal the ENGINE-KILL function while the vehicle is moving, within 30 seconds the engine will be shut off, and the power steering and power brake functions will be virtually lost. Steering and stopping will become very difficult, if not impossible."

Don't worry Dave you wont notice that on a 2a lol
    Is that even legal

yes an automated shut down is legal and is fitted on many electronic controlled large diesel engines you get a warning signal and 30 seconds to pull over and shut down. you can hit an override button that depending on the nature of the fault and the configuration of the computer either buys you another single 30 seconds per press (you cant stack them up you must press the button once every 30 seconds) or one single extra 30 second window. Presses of the button get logged.

The earliest version of it was a hydaulic latch in the fuel pump that if it wasnt recieving oil pressure it would shut down the fuel pump for diesel and a short to earth type oil switch that hooked up to the coil for petrols.
