If you are talking about the clamps that hold the cooler together, I have always reused the original ones.
Hi Guys
BlackBetty just started leaking coolant from the fuel cooler, both ends.
Only when cold and quite some time after being driven.I suspect leaving the bonnet open with -5 deg morning temps may have contributed.
I got the O ring sizes from a search, any pitfalls to watch when replacing the O rings???
Where does one get skinny replacement hose clamps????
Thanks
Andrew

Most hose clamps are skinny type if they are over 50mm diameter.
Best are the ABA ones. Makes sure you use a socket rather than a screwdriver.
If you can, get slightly thicker o rings and if you really can, get Viton rubber ones. Give Caterpillar a call, I think there is one a similar size available.

I have the same issue too, keep us posted Andy on how you go, I've heard it's hit and miss on whether it works or not.

Hey Andy
Congrats i have just got the issue on the deefer too, as the coolant is nice and new it really did look like it was bleeding
couldnt beleive that cold caused it to leak!
now just got to source the rings.. i'll be guessing Transeals...
Be interested to find out where you get the bits... if i can source anything for you let me know..

CBC Malaga have the orings in stock.. 3.70 each
did you want me to pick some up for you and post them down?
If i can get some specs about the jubilee clips too i can see about sourcing them? (dia / width)
Thanks
Steve
OK it started leaking very badly today, so we had to use a stop leak until we can get it sorted, so we are going the fix it route.
Apparently our mechanic had over 5 requests for fuel coolers before lunch, must be the unusually cold weather we are having.
Baz.

If they are Viton... she can get me some too
Did you source the clamps? or are you just going to reuse the existing ones?
I'm just wondering if im going to lose some coolant... whether i should drain it... keep it (as its a few months old) and drop the rad / intercooler out and give it a good scrub... there was lots of oil in the intercooler pipes..
