    Cooling issue

    G'day mates!
My Disco (300 Tdi) has recently developed the annoying trait to get hot at higher motorway speed. Otherwise the temperature gauge sits straight below the halfway mark, as it always does. Warming up time is as usual, no coolant loss. The funny thing is that this fault is intermittent only, i.e. it doesn't occur all the time. Ambient temperature doesn't seem to have any effect.
I have swapped the thermostat, albeit to no avail.

Any suggestions??? Don't want to ruin my engine, and admittedly have to rush sometimes (like this morning).

    Cheers
    Johannes

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

I recently took the advice of a few people on the forum and took my radiator out and had it roded and cleaned.

I wasn't having any real cooling problems but it was a 2001 build and I new the radiator had never been professionally cleaned.

Best thing I ever did. Apparently it was about 30% blocked. Now I hadn't had any cooling problems but was preparing for a road trip to Melbourne. The Melbourne trip was a road run to check some of the mods for my trip this Aug to Kakadu.

Anyhow the vehicle now runs a good six to nine degrees cooler around 80/83 degrees previously 86/89.

If you do also replace the coolant presure cap.

    Just my thoughts
