Without side tracking this thread I'm not sure this statement is correct on passing Rego. What it may mean is that to pass rego you may be forced to have your exhaust gas analysed for compliance for emission levels.

Blow down the neck of a balloon with the balloon cut off.Compare it to blowing down a piece of hosepipe.I think you will get the idea.

Im not say it will effect rego's. All cars have to meet an Australian emission standard to be allowed into the country. By removing emission control devices, they will not pass and you can get fined.
