94 defender front diff assembly into a 1988 RRC ?

94 defender front diff assembly into a 1988 RRC ?
Yeah , a mate has a front diff complete for a 94 defender , wondering whether this would be a good upgrade for my 88 RRC ?
Diff ratios the same 3.54 ?
Are the splines different (10 to 24?)I hope they are better !!
Is the wheelbase the same ?
Will it mount up the same ?
Are the brakes the same ?
Are the CVs any better than the 88 RRC .
Is it worth doing , will fit up with ARB locker if possible ,using 33 x 12.50s ?
Steering drop arm , links and damper arrangemnet will all fit up ?
Generally, is it worth doing considering Ill get the diff for Nix ?

The Defender front end should bolt straight up.
Diff ratios standard are 3.54 in both
94 defender will be 24 spline axles
wheelbase???? Maybe you mean track? will be the same
brakes,it depends on whether you have solid or vented discs??
throw away the axles and cvs and get a set from Hi tough or Longtracks from Keith.
You could just keep your front diff and add the locker of your choice in 24 spline and replace the axles and CVs,a lot less work and same end result.
But get the other diff anyway, you never know when you might need spares ie R&P.

Thanks Lowranger , yeah I meant Track !!! Make sense to just add the 24 spline and HD CVs . The 88 RRC were solids so maybe a slight improvement to Brakes ?
When you say , locker of your choice , Ive allready got a full maxidrive difflock rear , can a front maxidrive still be bought ?

Unfortunately Maxi Drive no longer exists and MR is only making the rear Salisbury lockers at the moment. So you have the choice of an ARB or a McNamara or something like a soft locker, something like a lock rite?Or try and find a second hand MaxiDrive.
The trouble with either the ARB or the McNamara in your situation is that they are both air lockers and require a compressor to operate.Where your maxi is vacuum operated.Compressor adds to the cost.
I have a Detroit No Spin in the rear Salisbury in my 94 Defender, and am waiting for McNamara to finish making my front locker.I went to the McNamara, because I wanted the strongest locker available,as I run 35's, and guys in the U.S. are starting to have problems with the ARB breaking. And despite what ARB like to say,the replacement parts for their new lockers come in boxes marked china..But if you aren't running 35's or bigger and/or lots of H.P. then they would be fine also.
