Perentie Spare Wheel Mount
Can any one tell me how the rear of a Perentie chassis is set up to accommodate the spare wheel?
I assume the rails flare out behind the spring mounts, but do they then run parallel again where they join the rear cross member?
How is the spare lifted and held?
On my 130 (I assume rear axle to rear cross member is the same as a 110) there doesn't seem to be enough room between the diff and the rear cross member to fit in the spare, is the Perentie longer in the rear overhang?
Thanks
Tony

I have a perentie rear end in the backyard. The chassis rails are wider behind the springs and cross member sits further back. All is heavier duty so vehicle can be airlifted. PM me your email and will send you a pic. In the middle is a wheel winch (fairly common part), with a shaft going to the side of the vehicle with a wheel nut at the end of the shaft. You the use the wheel brace to winch up/down the spare.
This set up would probably suit a 130 as you could fit a fuel tank before the rear axle. However I don't know if it could be engineered/approved.

Thanks rar110,
I can't see any reason why getting it engineered would be a problem if done properly.
PM sent
Thanks

My new county which is now a 130 county has the spare up under the tray verry similar to the army set up the rear of the chasis has been widened and the original X member reused and it has a winch set up at the top to lift the wheel up inside the rear .
Tomoro i will be taking pics of the whole truck and starting a thread in members rides when i do this prob later tomoro night i will link a pic of the rear in this thread .
