    After market water pump

    HI All,

My D1 has some play in the water pump. I think this may need to be looked at shortly.

Has anyone have any suggestions / criticism / advice on after market water pumps from other suppliers compared to the Land Rover distributed version.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Shaun

    water pump

Hi, I'll be buying w.pump for my D1 tomorrow. These guys I think are one of the cheapest around:

British Four Wheel Drive - Land Rover & Range Rover Parts Specialist :: DISCOVERY SERIES 1 :: COOLING :: WATER PUMPS :: STC4378 WATER PUMP V8 FROM VIN. MA081991

I've bought few things from them and I am very happy with the service.

Lucky my w.pump died today, I was going to start the trip from Qld to WA
    tomorrow

It is scary how the prices vary from place to place, I needed a new Rocker Arm ($21 new), got a price for $134 and that was for second hand one in Toowoomba. Also bought a set of Hydraulic Lifters for $160, Land Rover in Toowoomba wanted more then $600 for them. Go figure...

    Good luck...

Make sure your replacement pump has a cast impeller, not a pressed sheet metal one. I posted a pic last year comparing the two types.

They have gone back to the pressed metal impellers on the Spanish/OE/OEM ones for the TDi's, not sure why (except cost )
