RRC & Disco 1 Power Seat Switches
Hi,
Just discovered that the switches used for the Power seats in RRC and Disco 1 are the same as is used in late 80's/early 90's Mercedes 300E or variants of that chassis family.
OEM part numbers differ but are the same internally and plug in no mods required apart from swapping the escutcheon plate.
Did a search and nothing popped up, so i thought I'd post it for future reference, apologies if this is widely known already.
If yours are as cactus as mine, beyond repair and don't want to pay at least $170AUD each just for the switch mechanism new, knowing this made a huge difference in helping to track down second hand ones. Funnily enough, brand new they are both the same price through parts suppliers?

Yeah mine were beyond that, half the little "posts" were smashed off, and a previous owner had tried a fix at some stage and half the guts were missing.

if they are still in good nick drown them with 'contact cleaner', did mine bout a year ago seat switchs are still ok but due for another cleaning VERY SOON but the mirror switch started to play up again a few months ago.
Introduced to Contact Cleaner just over a year ago and sh!rt its majic mushrooms! (this is not a ad or was i endorsed by CRC, but i will take free tins!!!)
sorry if that blue and white tin is old news to everyone else but its worth it.
