Hi everyone.
Looking at buying a 75 RR that does not have a compliance plate and has been unregistered for around 2 years.
The owner said, they did not require one as they were fully imported.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct and if so, what procedures are there to register in NSW
Thanks

An Australian sold 75 RR would have a compliance plate.
However if the car was a private import it most likely will not.
I imported my 70s jag in 1984 and I never had to get a compliance plate for it. When first registered just had to produce the import documentation for rego.

Thanks Garycool, that might be the reason and sounds plausible, but I will as other posters have suggested and provide # to the RTA.
Thanks to all
I agree as it is most unlikely that you have a private import - if it has been registered before it will be in the system so you will not have an issue.
My 101 does not have a compliance plate but has been previously registered in NSW and QLD. When I took it for rego in the ACT last year, my 101 full registration history was in the database even though it had not been on the road and registered since 2000.
