There's a few places down in Perth that do it Andrew. The young bloke was talking about getting the original mags off his Mazda done a while back. Not sure which place he was looking at, but if you Google "Mag Wheel Polishing Perth" there's a few sites that come up.

From what Shaun said, there's one or two places down there who have a pretty good reputation amongst the young blokes up here - but he's out on site at the moment, so I can't ask him which ones.

I used to have polished chrome Sunraysias on my old 2 door RR - they suited it really well.
    Cheers .........

You could do it yourself with the right equipment. not all that difficult. Get a couple of duds from the wreckers to practice on.

The three steps in metal finishing are grinding or fettling, polishing, buffing or colouring.

Grinding or fettling removes casting flash, and major scratches or imperfections such as sand inclusions.

Polishing removes lesser scratches and imperfections and leaves a smooth finish but not necessarily a shiny one.

Buffing or colouring is to bring up a high shine. A loose cotton buff charged with jeweller's rouge or similar is usually the means used.

One of those hand held buffing machines used by car detailers and the appropriate buffing and polishing wheels and compounds will be just the ticket.

Its not urgent to do mine.
They are "breaking down" finish wise.
    Will look wicked like that.

Wow - that looks great. I have done a couple of motor bike rims before - they drove me crazy - I doubt I'd have the patience to do a full set like this - I'll have to start looking for someone in Melbourne to do mine..
