Thread: making a new rear bumper

hello well I have finally decided to make a new bumper for the rear of my disco II have ordered the led lights have most of it made, going to make a carrier for the spare wheel and highlift jack.

been looking at clips to hold the carrier in place then thought why not make it swing open with the door?? should not be that hard the orginal wheel carrier is stuffed from bigger and heavier wheels going to get a trailer hub turned down and stub axle at this stage unless I can find a plan B from the bearing suppliers.

the wings will be able to support the weight of the vechile when doing those drop offs from ledges. did my front bar a couple of years ago and that has handled alot plus giving it a better look at the front might get the lot powder coated depending on the cost of that.

If you check the markets, i believe rijid was selling the bits for a rear carrier, some assembly required. You might be able to incorporate it into your rear bumper.
