the VNT i have slightly adjusted down as even with a boost box it was overboosting

i am very confident that i will be able to bring the turbo back up and even more with the IRB 2 channel adjustable box

you said you running 25psi are you running your rubber hose coming from you actuator to the steel intercooler pipe or to the wastegate modulator

defender has no modulator, mine does becuase it has a disco motor, but not hooked up.

Sorry what i ment was i was running over 25 about 28psi with the old turbo.

running about 20 on the vnt

my maf reading get no where near 650, max i can get is 570 could be some thing wrong with my maf?

570 is about the readings I get from my MAF using the Nanocom, I've never seen readings over 600.

i regulary hit 650 600 then max out and it sits on 000.000

yeah Baz you should never max out as stock turbo can only suck a certain amount of air the VNT will suck the skin off a flying cat if it gets a chance

I'm no expert on electrickery, but here's a question for those in the know.

If the problem is that the MAF cuts fuel when it senses "too much" air,

Then the problem is not the original air pipes capacity to carry air, but the sensor.

So what would happen if you were to put an obstruction on the mesh in front of the sensor wires, so that air raced around it, and kept the sensor in a low pressure zone?

Then the engine / turbo could suck to its hearts content, and the MAF wouldn't cut fuel supply.

Until I bought a TD5 I didn't even have to bother reading electrickery posts.

Can someone please advise if the small square hole in the base of the airbox should be sealed off or is there a purpose for it. Seems that water can be sucked in there?

that needs to have a one way rubber plug i think its called a ducks beak this is so when it rains and water come down your snorkle it can drain out of your air box
definatley make sure the ducks beak is there i siliconed mine up a few times before knowing i am doing a big river crossings just got to remember to un silicone it

okay i have finely got the fine tuning done on my new IRB 2 channel adjustable box and the VNT turbo is finely running like it should this is a great product ,i would recommend anybody else how is having air problem and overboost problems to get one just remember if you are not confindent in tunning yourself dont get the adjustable one

only thing is we wited 5 weeks to recieve them as contact with Ian was very limited
    well worth the wait tho
i think the VNT turbo is finally doing what it is made to do
    cheers Kelvin

No, the duck beak is the larger hole in front of the cut out, the smaller hole could be a manufacturing fault, I'm pretty sure that hole shouldn't be there.
