    Smile KenFowler

Hi landrover afficionados this is Ken we have a 1998 disco last of ser 1. 900000 kms we are first/one owner and really cared for. New michies just fitted and front end aligned. But prior to this and after she tends to move around on the road, drives straight but needs constant minor chasing of steering wheel. Any ideas at all. Pedders? yeh I know, said shockers were soft???
Any ideas much appreciated Go the pies. Regards ken

Has the steering damper ever been replaced?
Tie rod ends and bushes would be another to look at.
    How old are the shocks?

If it drove perfectly before it went for the shockers, tyres and alignment then logic says it can only be one thing or a combination of what ever happened to it in the work shop.

I put Pedders on the Commodore after Bathurst a couple of years ago (the power of advertising). Never again.
I have found at times one problem masks another. I have steering issues on the Mercedes. I replaced tie rod ends which drew my attention to the steering column knuckle. Replacement of the knuckle drew my attention to the drag link. I'm expecting other issues to be noticed when I replace that.
I'd inspect all the tie rod ends on the steering rack etc. for play, then the steering column knuckles, steering box, and finally, radius arm bushes.
    Good hunting.

Ken, 900000 km around Brighton? Must be a typo!!

Check panhard rod bushes, check steering box backlash. What did the readout from the tyre place tell you about toe-in (out) total before and after the alignment? There may lie a clue.

    Cheers
