    TD5 head gaskets

    Gday All,
    1-Is the TD5 head gasket the same as the TDi, where they have 3 different thickness gaskets, determined by the holes, or are they a single thickness for all
    2-If replacing with a different head , is there a crush test you perform or do you go with the thickest gasket..

    At first I was going to say "yes" the head gasget fitts between the head and block but I held back

    1.... Yes they are marked by the holes, I just went for the thickest one

    2.... It appears that you meshure the piston protrusion above the block at TDC to work out which gasget you need.
