If I was near you I would lend you my spare MSB ECU (has a B Davis chip) to see if it was the software in your ECU that is giving this miss.

At the moment I have a flashed NNN ECU with a TD5Alive upgrade in my D2, seems to be working really really well power wise at the moment and no miss, although mine is a manual D2.

We put my MSB ECU in Phils car and straight way you could tell, no miss at all at idle.
Also I have since been informed that there are 2 MSB ECUs, late 98(Aug/Sep to early (June/July)2000 and late Aug/Sep2000 to early June/July)2002, after this Aug/Sep comes the D2a update with the flashable NNN ECU COMPLICATED HEY

These dates are all build dates, not release dates (eg) a 2001 model D2 was built between Aug 2000 to July 2001.

In addition, Phil (DiscoWhite) sold the Discovery in question the year after (back in 2011) to me. It's fuel economy is still weird - still gets about 450 to 550km to a tank but that's running 33" with the roof rack and all the other heavy gear on it. Changing the diff ratios, tyre size, ECU tune, fitting a VNT, larger intercooler etc. have not had any positive or negative effect on the fuel economy, nor does driving type or style (e.g. highway commenting, city driving or towing are all the same).

WOW I've had the D4 now for 7years, I drove Phils D2-A for a week and managed to get better economy than Phil ever did, he had a lead foot, those fuel figure are great twr7cx with all you've done especially given you're on 33s, Phil never got anywhere near that from memory.

With mine changing from the msb to the nnn ECU made a difference straight away, with a bigger intercooler, re-map, upping the boost, 32s, best economy I got was low 10s constantly to and from work, loaded with the camper mid 12s to low 13s.

Anyway sold the old girl with 320,000ks on it, still miss it.
