As the title says, fuels aint fuels. After chasing an overly rich running D1 V8 for a while and getting even more grey hair because of it, I have tried useing Caltex Vortex 95 unleaded. SURRISE. No more blowing out a cloud of black smoke at higher revs anymore. And the exhaust is not as black with unburnt fuel. I had previously been useing the ethnol 95 fuel when short of money [cheaper ] [false economy] or ordinary unleaded 91 [ both blends from the same servo]. Now I realize how stupid it is to comprise on the quality of the fuel I use. Caltex Vortex for me now.
