    cherie-cherie squeak sound front left wheel

    hi guys,

    I've notices on my defender td5 a cherrie-cherrie sound from the front left.

    Say I'm driving down a strait road, when I steer to the right starting from even a very light right movement all the way through I get this sound. It sound like a bearing or something that needs lube or somthing....

    Any Idea what this may be?

    does the other side make a kind of chim, chim-eny chim chim sound? if so keep an eye out for baby sitters with umbrellas, you have one of the rare disney/broadway edition defenders.

    yep, the usual line up of primary suspects in no particular order are

    brake pads sticking
    bearings too loose allowing the rotor to contat the pads intermittantly
    bearings failing from dried out lube
    races slipping in the housing or on the stub.

    secondary suspects include
    debry in the caliper
    debry under the rotor
    the car is channeling Julie Andrews/Dickvandyke

    if it's the power steering belt, would it make the noise when I stand still? will try it.
    will also look for stuff around the caliper and so on... then take it to ATV land rover.
