Phil, I have great results using Tony and Manuel at Manuel Automatics in Thomastown. I send all my autos there, even though they are across that expensive bit of seawater
Tony Grew up in that workshop, I'm sure.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Mine (V8) was done on an exchange basis by A&B Automotive Remanufacturing in South Dandenong. Fantastic service and after sales follow-up.

As I recall (I am off in the wilds of SE SA at the moment), the exchange box has pretty much all HP24EH bits apart from the pump, which is what makes the 24 longer than the 22.

I also had an oil temp gauge and a larger oil cooler fitted after testing with my van on the back showed that the standard cooler was inadequate on long hard climbs.

Highly recommend A&B based on my experience.

thanks, i actually just spoke to them, A+ for answering my query
    $3000-$3500 to upgrade/rebuild a 22eh to handle a chipped td5.
they didnt know about fitting a 3.9-4.0L V8 converter to the td5 to gain a bigger lockup clutch and lower stall, there looking into that as we speak.
i should have a phone call back in a few days.
they also do and exchange box so there is less down time.

according to my sorces, A&B are rated #4 in the world and #1 in aust by ZF.

    cheers phil

Here is an extract of an email from Dave Ashcroft:

the ideal box is the TGD000170, this is a 4HP24EH, V8 front with 230 back end made for the disco 2 4.6 US market, I have some new crated ones in stock,

    Dave

He is a very very helpful bloke

I'll back that one totally - Dave has just finished helping me out finding an adaptor over in England which is nigh on impossible to find.

Big thumbs up from me for his efforts, and I'd happily recommend anyone to him for parts.

    Cheers

x2 JC, good mate of mine is a trans builder, he highly recommends Manuel for ZF stuff.
