Mud accelerates the wear on brake components more than people give it credit. Especially if it hasn't been cleaned off before it dries - yes I know that's hard when you're out bush.
If everything is adjusted right and working BEFORE you head bush, then I'd presume that it's the mud that's causing the damage.

LOVERLY... mud wonderful mud... does any one know of a good pad that i can use brand/compound??

if you jack the wheels up off the ground are they easy to turn by hand

the wheels turn freely with a bit of weight behind them. but you cant shake the wheel like as if it has loose bearing.

nah im not a rally driver. i leave that for the bush bombs (datsuns preferably).. when i go to stop i also gear down if im going down hill or at speeds
