You may have to buy a new panel, Sikaflex is a permanent urethane bond. It is likely stronger than the aluminium skin.
I need to remove the rear windows in the Tdi and finally replace the felt in the channels. Unfortunately there is a catch...
When I got the vehicle 6 years ago I had to rivet the windows back in and as I wasn't happy with how well the rivets would hold I put Sikaflex there as well. This is proving a little hard to break and as it is on a flat panel below the roof gutter etc it is a bit awkward to slide a thin blade in.
Is there any alternative for breaking this stuff's grip???

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
i replaced my felt without removing the window.......![]()
Can you get a thin piece of wire in there, and use it like a cheese-cutter? (i.e. pull back and forth on the wire).
Looks like there is no chemical way of dissolving it.....

Thanks the wire idea may work and I've been eyeing off an old filleting knife with a thin blade. There seems to be enough to slice through big problem is the top below the roof gutter is hard to get into.
Will see how it goes. I'm not worried about paint damage.

Find out what is used to cleanup Sikaflex, it should be on the tube, it could be Turps, Metho or thinners, dip the blade of your (thin) knife/scraper/wire into whatever is used for cleaning and slice small sections at a time keeping the blade wet, good luck, Regards Frank.
