Installing a bonnet mount spare kit

    Hi Guys,

I've got a defender bonnet mount kit which I'm going to fit on my 110. Only problem is that it isn't really obvious which where all the bits go

Any chance someone who has one could post some photos of where all the bits go?

    Cheers!

    hey flag

will take a pic of the top tonight......

will look how much effort is involved in the lining off the under side

will take some measurements as well.

    Thanks Kelvin,

I should have guessed it was all held together with pop rivets!!

Does anyone have pics from under the bonnet? Would be good to confirm where the brackets are mounted..

    Cheers !

If you mount a tyre on the bonnet and do a bit of driving over corrugated roads, sooner or later the bonnet cracks. Better of with second spare on roof rack.

my bonnet mounted spare has been on there for 10+ years. since i have owned the car its been across the simpson and up to the gulf and the previous owner had driven it all over australia with no problem. apart from two popped rivets in last couple of months (i replaced them all) and a couple of sets of hinge rubbers ($10) my bonnet is in perfect condition

i usually carry a 2nd spare on the roof rack but man its an effort getting it up there

the previous owner of mine had rebuilt the rear a couple of times so he moved it to the bonnet

i am thinking of fitting a swing away carrier and only have one on the bonnet for touring
