G'day all.
I have a mind to fab up some rock sliders for the County - I have zero welding skills ( Love to learn! ) but in talking to a mate t'other day he was saying he used to do the work up to the point of welding and then have somebody else weld the gear up for him.
I 'm pretty confident I can grind and cut with the best of them but I need some basic advice before I begin.
# - What material to use for box section?
# - How thick?
# - How many horizontal struts should I be looking at for greatest strength to chassis rail?
If anybody in the Sydney area has experience in this already and could help me out that would be even better. Additionally, if anybody near me is about to make some up I'd be keen to jump on the bandwagon and render what services I can to get some made up also.
Cheers, Simon.

Here are mine:
They double as air tanks - providing air for the rear air springs, tyre inflation and air tools.
I have jacked off them, no problem.
They are 3 mm wall. The attachment points are 6/8 mm angle and 10 mm flat bar.
Ben, is it just the pic or did it bend when HDG?

Sorry to interupt, but the comment of "jacking off" has me with a mental picture of Rodney rude using a high lift. If you know what I mean.
