subject of other problems with drivetrain ive had my puma 110 trayback in to land rover to have the gearbox indent springs sorted apparently its quite common they told me for the shifter to lock between reverse and first. seems odd but they fixed it and all is well. Had mine 12 months now, no other problems 40 000k on it and its done the birdsville track and a fair portion of the gulf of carpentaria. hope yours comes good for you, im loving mine now, although i still pine for my old 300TDi back

Defender Drive train problems anyone else?

Hi all sorry for the delay it turned out to be the CV joint, it collapsed due to a faulty speed sensor causing the traction control to kick in while driving normally on the road. Land rover fixed it under warranty it is still going well now. The car has done over 40,000. I had the transfer case checked it pops out in to neutral after using low range unless general pressure is applied to the lever upon take off after putting it back into high. (Only have to do this once every time low is used). This is apparently normal I thinking it is improving with age, but then so are my stories?
