Apparently this has not happened before, on their inspection the CV joint had no manufacturing or assembly faults. There aparently has been some force put through it such as spinning the front wheels and then suddenly gripping (the word abuse was mentioned). In other words the car has been thrashed!!! NOT BY US!! I stated we haven't even towed anything with it and haven't even used it off road as we are carefully running it in. Anyway the parts will not be in until January the 7th. We will see what happens then. BTW We bought it with 10km on the clock but it had 100 on it when we picked it up?
DON'T accept that you may be the cause of the failure. Absolute rubbish. These CV's are renowned to last 200,000 to 300,000km easily with standard tyres. I have them in my RRC with WAY more torque than a Puma, AND 33" tyres AND they get a caning
Never broken one yet. Even better; the Puma has a reduced turning circle, protecting the CV's from stresses even more!
I really think it is most likely poor manufacturing and/ or no lube.
Make sure you tell them that you are NOT to blame, AND they can ring me if they like and I'LL tell them
