Thread: Disco 300tdi alternator in Defender - help!!

Hi,

I'm fitting a discovery 300tdi alternator to my defender but the terminals don't quite match up.

Can anyone help me out.

The Defender has one heavy wire and one small wire (charge light I guess..).

The new Disco alternator has 3 terminals labelled, B+, D+ and w. The w has a normal screw terminal as well as a spade connector. I've included a photo for reference.

Not quite sure what goes where!

Big battery wire to B+, (largest terminal) small wire to D+, W is tacho in disco.
