I wouldn't bother with getting an agent to do it, The'yll lock the pump and set it up, but it'll no doubt be way different when you come to time it. Do it when the pump is ON the vehicle, and fitted with a new correctly tensioned timing belt . You will need a dial indicator and a timing tool, the same as required to fit a 1HZ rotary pump, as this is what I use.
You can give me a call if you like tomorrow, 0408 995 635.
The main problem may actually be the 'base' timing anyway, the 1.6mm mod is an enhancement, not a necessary tweak for standard adjustments.

Edit:Oops, should've read your post carefully first, are you taking the vehicle to them? If so, then yes ask for 1.6mm at TDC. Factory is 1.54mm. It is still pointless unless a new belt is fitted first.

? If I just say "please adjust the plunger lift to 1.6mm at TDC" that'll make sense? Isn't this just an adjustment to the injection timing? (For some reason I'm thinking its a change to fuel volume)

. (Short of pulling the whole cover - which isn't an option till the tbelt is due in 40k... which may or may not mean no aircon if the belt even needs adjustment or breaks.)
